The Lowcountry Builders Blitz is a collaborative partnership of the five Habitat for Humanity affiliates in the Charleston tri-county region and the local building industry. We reached our goal of building 5 homes during the week of May, 14, 2007. Home builders and their associates completed the building of these homes in one week, working with their subcontractors and suppliers to deliver the house at a minimum cost to the affiliates. Prior to the blitz build, each affiliate had secured land for the building and managed site development by providing lots with foundations, driveways and utilities in place. Each affiliate also provided the builders with house plans and will have secured all required permitting.
